This destruction sequence was created for the Aton project.
I built a multi-stage Chaos Destruction setup in Unreal Engine 5. All interaction logic was done in Blueprints and includes four stages of destruction. When the player interacts with the statue, it breaks, and impact points spawn surface effects.
After the destruction, a smoke-shaped head of Iblis appears and flies along a spline path. The motion was enhanced using FluidNinja to give the smoke more natural movement.
In this work, I also used a swirling smoke effect created by Cyriel De Jonghe, which helped add more atmosphere and motion to the scene.
When the head reaches the end of the spline, a Blueprint Event Dispatcher triggers another Blueprint that starts a large sandstorm effect, turning the destruction into a full environmental event
